JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Digital Engineering is an experienced technical leader who thrives on making a direct impact to the customer experience and enabling our revenue growth. This role serves as a key leader on the Strategy and Digital Transformation team and will bring a strong engineering perspective to the team and linking closely with other enterprise leaders to drive change and growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain the standards for use of digital technologies and cloud native development which our digital product teams will adopt as we innovate and scale our digital customer experience. This includes working closely with the Director of eCommerce and the web team on the technology stack for our web properties.
- Coordinate closely with Product Owners, Product Managers and their product teams to build digital products which will delight our customers, meeting their needs throughout their experience with PODS.
- Optimize the development and re-use of capabilities across digital products and experiences.
- Work closely with Enterprise Architecture and other IT functions (including DevOps, Change Management, Security and Monitoring) to ensure that digital product teams are implementing products in a manner that enables scale within our enterprise. Also influence the advancement of technology standards to support PODs growth ambitions.
- Works with other business and technical leaders and subject matter experts to ensure integration between process and capabilities across our ecosystem.
- Recruit, hire, and support the ongoing development of digital engineers who will be key members of digital product teams responsible for creating software that enables PODs to test and learn and eventually scale and grow. Oversee the technical requirements and staffing of our 3rd party partners working on digital growth initiatives.
- Responsible for overall leadership of the digital team path to production and SRE
- Aids in developing the digital transformation roadmap. Informs budget and forecast for digital transformation portfolio
- Maintains a connection with front line personnel and customers to ensure the digital enhancements are developed and deployed in a customer centric manner
