JOB SUMMARY

PODS is looking for a highly specialized, hands-on, seasoned UX Designer who is deeply passionate about user experience and design, someone who seeks to make the complex simple, believes in the transformational power of design, and, just as importantly, thrives when leading and working as part of a team.  Candidate will ensure our digital products are intuitive, easy to learn and efficient across all devices utilizing a mobile first methodology - resulting in a best of class digital experience for our customer. 

Ideal candidate must be able to clearly articulate how product design will impact all users, as well as proactively gathering evidence and data to guide design decisions. Candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the current state of web and mobile technology and best practices, with a critical awareness of implications on user-centered design and functionality. Candidate should be detail-oriented, able to develop, lead and manage highly functional teams of researchers and designers, and are comfortable working with technical teams. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, communicate and evangelize a user experience strategy that supports our target customers.
  • Ability to develop mobile first wireframes and designs
  • Ability to develop low and high fidelity wireframes, interactive wireframes, all the way to full visual comps.
  • Champion principles of usability and user-centered design while sharing knowledge and influencing within and across the organization
  • Build a strong design culture while developing and continuously improving the design practice across PODS
  • Articulate user experience design issues effectively. Present and justify design thinking and rationale through key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholders
  • Cross-collaboration with operations, logistics, marketing, sales, revenue management, accounting and other stakeholders to define design vision and implement intuitive, seamless user interactions with our products and applications across multiple platforms
  • Translate concepts and facilitate product vision by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products that lead to intuitive user experiences for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in human-computer interaction, cognitive psychology, interaction design, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of progressive UX/UI design experience in software, web and mobile environments.
  • Proven leadership ability with both design oversight and hands-on creation of highly crafted user experience and visual design deliverables, including personas, wireframes, customer journeys, concepts, typography, color, information design and screen layouts
  • Expertise in UX software such as Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, UXPin, or similar and ability to stay on top of new developments in UX software to make recommendations for efficiencies based on industry’s latest trends and technologies
  • Extensive experience in interface + interaction design, research, and new product development utilizing Lean UX methods and working within an agile development community
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability concerns.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to PODS teams.
  • Be willing to help teammates, share knowledge and experience with them, and learn from them.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially as they relate to presenting, articulating, and defending research and design decisions
  • Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
