Job Description

PODS Enterprises LLC, a leader in the moving and storage industry, is currently seeking a Tax Manager to join our corporate headquarters in Clearwater, Florida.

The Tax Manager will responsible for managing deadlines related to PODS’ overall tax compliance, tax accounting and analysis. They will be responsible for accuracy and correctness of final returns, work papers and documentations. Must be able to make concise conclusions on tax code interpretation, methodology and tax positions. The employee must have ability to identify audit risks and be able to effectively respond to audit inquiries. Additionally, the Tax Manager will assist the Director of Tax (or others as assigned) with various ad hoc reporting and research projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train and develop associates
  • Interpret statutes and explain tax rules
  • Manage tax audits
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects

Tax Compliance

  • Manage/review sales and use tax, property tax and other indirect tax filings
  • Manage/review returns and work papers for US and foreign tax filings
  • Manage/review quarterly and annual estimated income tax/franchise tax computations
  • Manage/review carryover schedules and historical information (i.e. payment, NOL, E&P)
  • Document tax positions, interpretations and methodologies applicable to filing entities

Tax Accounting and Analysis

  • Review/prepare work papers and memos for income tax accounting (ASC740)
  • Manage financial audit process
  • Review/prepare memos for tax positions, including income tax, SUT, GST/HST/PST, property tax etc.
  • Manage/review monthly or quarterly tax accounts reconciliation and closing
  • Review/prepare memos for special projects, such as acquisitions or researches
  • Analyze/quantify tax impacts from specific transactions, including operational and tax law changes.
  • Ensure the adoption of effective and efficient processes and procedures

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is required
  • 4 plus years of Income Tax compliance experience is required
  • 3 plus years of Income Tax Accounting (ASC 740) and reporting experience is required
  • International tax experience is required
  • At least three years preparing and analyzing financial information in a corporate (public or non- public) corporate environment
  • Strong knowledge in corporate income tax accounting and compliance.
  • Must have problem solving ability, leadership skills, a positive team driven attitude, presentation skills, a professional attitude, and must work well with internal and external team members
  • Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
