Job Description


Are you a Software Development Manager with NetSuite experience and looking for an exciting new challenge?  Would you like to live minutes away from the top US beaches?  PODS moving and storage is implementing an entirely new ERP platform using NetSuite and we are looking for a passionate Sr level Manager to join our leadership team to oversee and lead the development, customization and support of our new system as well as define our future strategic direction for PODS. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of NetSuite Developers and Software Engineers as we complete the implementation of NetSuite.  Tasks include overseeing daily maintenance, system enhancements, project implementations and maturing our overall software development standards, procedures and lifecycle.  You will be responsible for developers on the team as they assist with the above.  You may perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 




  • Provide leadership across all areas of the development process and software development lifecycle
  • Design, develop and ensure consistency of our software development standards, best practices, security coding guidelines, functional/technical designs, code branching/merging, peer code reviews, implementation practices, etc. (aligning with Architecture and Security guidelines)
  • Ensure development and process synergy/alignment across both NetSuite and non-NetSuite domains
  • Provide guidance and expertise with respect to our change, configuration and release management practices for all code promotions from lower to upper environments
  • Define and establish our NetSuite development methodology for continuous improvement of our new ERP platform and integrating with existing SDLC practices
  • Develop strong relations with the business, helping IT move from technical service provider to strategic partner/leader in terms of system recommendations for business enablement
  • Leverage strong communication skills to convey strategic ideas clearly and concisely with peers and executive leadership to obtain buy-in on system improvements and IT operational processes
  • Leverage development background and technical leadership to develop performance/training plans to enhance the skills of the entire development team and hire/terminate as required
  • Mentor development team members in NetSuite, SuiteScript 1.0/2.0, Microservices, .NET and other API integration areas
  • Help lead the transition from our current consulting implementation partners to internal staff (augmented with contractors as required)
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other IT Leaders to establish best practices across IT, obtaining buy-in and elevating our IT maturity as a whole

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a Manager/Director position(s) demonstrating leadership and managing teams greater than 10+ team members in the software development space.
  • 10+ years programming experience with one or more additional full scale, OO programming languages
  • 5+ years implementing NetSuite solutions using SuiteScript, HTML and CSS
  • Advanced knowledge of NetSuite architectures from a software development perspective
  • Experience implementing NetSuite add-ons to integrate functionality such as credit card processing, ACH, address verification, eSignatures, CRM, etc.
  • Experience building and consuming APIs using SOAP and/or REST
  • Experience implementing NetSuite SCA solutions
  • Experience implementing or working with mobile applications a plus
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related technical discipline



  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to navigate; Vision sufficient to view small details on a computer monitor
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; ability to stoop, bend, run network cabling, rack mount equipment, and lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device


  • Regular business hours. Additional hours will be required.
  • Travel requirements: Some infrequent domestic travel may be required
  • Climate-controlled office environment during normal business hours, Data Center environment after hours
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required
  • May be subject to pre-employment criminal background check and/or drug screening as well as random drug screenings in accordance with company policy
