JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the management and overall performance of the business analysis function. Leads the business analysis efforts to identify business problems and propose appropriate software solutions, especially the ability to support and manage business analysis for complex, high-profile, or enterprise-level projects.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Accountable for the overall performance and productivity of IT Business Analyst personnel reporting to this position
  • Lead and mentor other business analysts in the organization
  • Responsible for promoting and evolving business analysis governance best practices and continuous process improvement
  • Collaborate with business representatives to develop complete and comprehensive requirements for applications and systems
  • Analyze business processes and software change requests to determine system requirements
  • Stay abreast of new and future business needs and track and report impact of changes to interdependent functional areas
  • Create programming specifications from the business needs analyses
  • Develop and assist maintaining the Requirements Traceability Matrices for each software change requests
  • Feed suggestions for improving workflows into the business community
  • Ability to handle new business domains with confidence
  • Assist the application support function as needed
  • Use reporting tools to perform ad hoc data analyses as needed to support business cases
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Lead to develop the testing protocols and documents
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job title(s) may include: IT Sr. Manager and IT Director
  • Job is directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management). Job title example(s) of employees directly supervised: Sr. Business Analyst, IT Business Analyst, various IT contractors.

 

 

 

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS or Business Administration
  • 6-8 years required of prior experience in the role of a business analyst
  • 1+ years’ experience in a Senior business analyst role
  • Strong experience with software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong experience with Agile and Traditional (Waterfall) project management methodologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with Team Foundation Server
  • Working knowledge of T-SQL
  • Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to navigate; Vision sufficient to view small details on a computer monitor
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; ability to stoop, bend and lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regular business hours. Some additional hours may be required.
  • Travel requirements: Negligible
  • Climate-controlled office environment during normal business hours.
  • May be subject to pre-employment criminal background check and/or drug screening as well as random drug screenings in accordance with company policy
