JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing the company’s online social presence in a way which builds brand awareness and loyalty. Manages the company’s growth and presence on social media with the goal of increasing engagement, awareness, and web traffic. Assists with execution between the creative agency and the in-house creative team. Responsible for managing execution of the monthly social media content calendar.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must have command of best practices and trends in social media marketing, enjoy being creative, and understand how to both build and convert a digital audience.
  • Plays a major role in enhancing brand awareness within the digital and social networking space as well as driving website traffic and acquiring leads/customers.
  • Grow our followers, engage and retain them, and help convert them into leads, customers, and active fans and promoters of our company.
  • Oversees all aspects of social media manages the social media/ PR specialist (reactive). Handles reactive communications as needed.
  • Responsible for executing against the social media content calendar, overseeing the content development and execution of posting all content.
  • Work alongside other marketers and content marketers to help distribute content that educates and entertains our audience and supports marketing goals.
  • Keeps up to date with best social media practices and trends in order to grow, engage, and retain followers.
  • Works with the content marketing specialist in order to maintain and grow the blog.
  • Tracks and monitors social media analytics. Collaborates with the agency to optimize campaigns and disseminates reporting internally.
  • Adapts social media into the corporate culture.
  • Coordinates with the appropriate agency or in-house creative team to ensure proper execution of brand-consistent content.
  • May personally create content for social media channels and blog posts as needed.
  • Attends any relevant events for social media purposes.
  • Collaborates with other teams, like marketing, sales and customer service to ensure brand consistency and promote any news releases or brand messages.
  • Performs maintenance as needed to social media accounts’ design (cover photos, profile photos, blog layouts).
  • Responsible for monitoring the brand’s reputation across all relevant platforms
  • Assists with PR and crisis management communications as needed
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: Director, Marketing or Senior Brand Manager
  • Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management)

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • BA/BS or its equivalent is desired; degree in Marketing is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience in the field or in a related area
  • High level of expertise on multiple social media platforms
  • Online and offline content development experience required
  • Knowledge of content marketing, social media, SEO, and digital marketing trends
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage significant workloads and shifting priorities
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects at time
  • Possesses strong production skills
  • Possesses strong verbal communication skills
  • Must be passionate about marketing, branding, and social media; keeps abreast of current developments and trends
  • Possesses strong conceptual & aesthetic skills, creative process, and strategic mindset.
  • Must be passionate about creating a positive customer experience
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods – includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral and visual media
  • Possesses math skills sufficient to perform required duties
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to navigate; Vision sufficient to view small details on a computer monitor
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; Ability to stoop, bend and lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regular business hours. Some additional hours may be required.
  • Travel requirements: Negligible
  • Climate-controlled office environment during normal business hours.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required
  • May be subject to pre-employment criminal background check and/or drug screening as well as random drug screenings in accordance with company policy
