Job Description

Strategic role responsible for managing technology vendor relationships, contracts, licensing and technology sourcing. Continually assessing IT departmental needs, financials, and the technology vendor market to determine effective options and technology supply sources for the organization.
  • Develop an enterprise technology sourcing strategy that delivers to corporate IT and business goals
  • Develop effective relationships in all lines of business to promote procurement and vendor management functions and processes
  • Continuously improve key sourcing competencies, such as vendor relationship management, stakeholder management, negotiations, analytics, project management, and finance or statistics
  • Understand and adopt agile principles into technology sourcing best practices
  • Manage all technology contracts; Create, maintain, negotiate, review and manage all licensing contracts/leasing agreements, e.g., for hardware and software
  • Audit existing contracts, oversee contract modifications and coordinate with Finance and Accounting to ensure correct billing.
  • Keep current with technology market trends, contract trends and new laws, and evaluate effective options for supply, which may include the acquisition of technology products, outsourcing or insourcing, ad determine potential impact to the business
  • Review, manage, and approve a comprehensive list of best-in-class suppliers for bid processes developed by analyzing industry trends and competitive positioning to leverage the most effective technology supply base
  • Present market analysis to IT and business leaders regarding innovative product and service opportunities and propose improvements to existing strategies
  • Work closely with stakeholders to lead major sourcing programs, including guiding procurement activities such as e-sourcing, RFx, and overall management of sourcing initiatives
  • Have knowledge and experience with the tools required to capture and analyze relevant data and information
  • Lead evaluation of optimal sourcing options considering outsourcing, cloud, hybrid, and insourcing models
  • Sponsor and initiate continuous process improvement projects regarding sourcing service delivery
  • Demonstrate effectiveness with vendor product bundling, pay-for-usage vs fixed-cost analysis, requiring vendor pricing transparency, competitive bidding, eliminating unnecessary product add-ons, negotiation of early or long-term renewals, favorable pricing structures and terms, etc.
  • Prepare reports on status of contracts for management

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business or other management discipline or equivalent experience
  • Participation on supply chain management boards, roundtables or the equivalent is preferred
  • Ten or more years in technology contracts management and sourcing and/or procurement and/or vendor management is expected, with at least four to five years as a technology contracts and sourcing manager
  • Experience leading key technology negotiations, with strong contract management and negotiation skills
  • Experience leading large-scale or enterprise sourcing activities
  • Functional experience within IT is preferred
  • Experience in evaluating support agreements and the yearly true-up and demand management requirements, as part of proper asset management deliverables
  • Strong ability to translate stakeholder requirements into technology sourcing practices and business outcomes
  • Comfortable in addressing strategic supplier relationships, and developing strategies that look to reduce overall cost or risk
  • A broad understanding of technology sourcing trends and potential implications to the business
  • Ability to work within stringent time frames and handle multiple duties
