Job Description


Responsible for performing functions to research, develop, document, implement, train and support the computer security infrastructure, and lead in the protection of company IT assets.


  • Collaborate with IT management to establish appropriate strategies for computer security architecture and infrastructure based on the current and future technical needs of the company
  • Analyze information security systems, applications, make recommendations and develop security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss
  • Ensure the appropriate technological security measures, risk, and audit assessment procedures are employed to protect company information assets. Direct the implementation and administration of the computer security measures as required
  • Maintain a security awareness program for new and existing employees
  • Develop and maintain computer security policies and plans
  • Proactively identify threats, vulnerabilities and risks to computer security
  • Design, apply and manage access controls using knowledge of active directory, profiles, resources and class structures for securing user and role-based access to data / system resources
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or requisite job experience is required (degree is highly desirable)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a security engineering role with proven experience in enterprise network architecture, management, capacity planning and monitoring
  • 2+ years of practical working experience and knowledge of IT systems / network administration, including but not limited to Microsoft Active Directory, XP, Microsoft Server 2003/2008, Citrix, and Cisco network gear
  • Certifications such as CISSP, MCSE +security are preferred
  • PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience required
  • Solid understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, Internet, wireless, email security, OS security policies, VPN, web server security, and firewalls in a Microsoft / Citrix environment with basic understanding of other operating systems such as Linux.  Capable of providing support for system / network security as it relates to system designs, upgrades and/or replacements of Intranet/Internet related technology
  • Complete understanding of formal Penetration Testing – Internal/External (Network, Application, Wireless, Physical, etc…) author & publish Penetration Testing RFP. Actively participate in working alone and/or with security vendors to identify corporate vulnerabilities and respond by implementing industry standard best practices mitigation techniques to protect the corporate information assets
  • Solid understanding of IDS/IPS system concepts, technologies, implementation and support. Proactively respond to unauthorized activity as identified by network monitoring systems
  • Experience supporting corporate Compliance Requirements (Auditors, Risk Assessment, PCI, etc…) and actively participating in compliance activities
  • Strong inter-networking troubleshooting experience in a large scale network environment
  • Experience designing, selecting, reviewing and implementing vendor solutions / contracts
  • Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience


  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to navigate; Vision sufficient to view small details on a computer monitor
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; ability to stoop, bend and lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device


  • Regular business hours.  Some additional hours may be required.
  • Travel requirements:  Negligible
  • Climate-controlled office environment during normal business hours.
