Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for data collection and analysis to support pricing strategies to stay competitive for deliveries in local markets. Conducts market research and makes recommendations regarding pricing policies. Maintains historical pricing data on the organization and its competitors. Plans and executes strategies supporting the generation of container delivery revenue.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews company strategy and makes local pricing recommendations considering the impact of constraints (e.g., delivery capacity; physical number of containers; storage center capacity).
  • Uses understanding of local economics and geographies to determine 2-dimensional impact on pricing and local network of deliveries.
  • Participates in short-term tactical forecasting activities to support achieving targeted revenues for the month.
  • Proposes rate change recommendations to align with Company’s Operating Plan, supported by facts gathered in analyses. Modifies local strategy to meet Operating Plan.
  • Measures impact of price changes and adjusts proposed rate change recommendations accordingly.
  • Supports senior pricing analysts and Finance in Long-Term Plan (LTP) activities.
  • Provides support for both Corporate-owned and Franchise locations in all duties for assigned region(s) and/or market(s).
  • Perform work supporting ad hoc projects and information requests.
  • Provide support for additional testing for Pricing System changes and/or implementations.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Typically reports to Management.  Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: Pricing Manager
  • Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management)

 

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Concentration in economics, statistics, operations research, or supply chain management preferred
  • Two (2) to four (4) year’s relevant experience preferred (e.g., supply chain management, revenue management, pricing, accounting)
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate proficient use of Pricing System
  • Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to navigate; Vision sufficient to view small details on a computer monitor
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; ability to stoop, bend and lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regular business hours.  Some additional hours may be required.
  • Travel requirements:  Negligible
  • Climate-controlled office environment during normal business hours.
  • May be subject to  pre-employment criminal background check and/or drug screening as well as random drug screenings in accordance with company policy
