JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing leadership and direction to the engineers in the IT Infrastructure Group, including assignment and prioritization of research and development projects, evaluation of new technologies, architecture of technology solutions to meet business needs, hiring for open positions, and day-to-day administrative management of group resources.  Identify and propose new information technologies and systems to improve business processes and decision making. Help establish strategic direction of the company’s information systems as well as executing the strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists the Director of IT Engineering in establishing the strategic long term goals, policies, and procedures for the IT Infrastructure Team
• Provide oversight and management of all systems managed or developed by the IT Infrastructure staff; includes managing vendor relationships
• Create, maintain, and enforce system’s architecture, design, and standards for staff; track and report on adherence
• Analyze existing systems and processes; implement appropriate modifications and/or replacements for improvements, along with formulation of new and enhanced systems, approaches, and state-of-the-art tools to improve efficiency on a global basis
• Provide motivation, leadership, and direction of the Infrastructure Engineering staff 
• Management and supervision of staff 
• Evaluate all global IT network operations, including data centers, voice/data networks, system hardware and support, telecommunications, data replication, and vendor relationships for improvements or recommended upgrades for scaling and growth
• Assist the Director of IT Engineering in managing applicable IT operating and capital budgets, resource planning, capital acquisition strategies and vendor support contracts
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements
• B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field required 
• 5-8 years experience in the MIS or Information Technology field, including at least 2 years in a network management, system’s engineering, and/or security engineering role or equivalent with proven experience in enterprise infrastructure architecture, management, capacity planning and monitoring. MS platform, storage area network.
• Two (2) years in a leadership capacity, including task assignment and resource planning in conjunction with management.  
• Practical working experience and knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including virtual server platforms, Citrix/remote desktop environments, data and telecommunication technologies, including but not limited to infrastructure architecture and management.
• Solid written and oral communications, planning and documentation background 
• COBIT, Sarbanes-Oxley background preferred 
• Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to navigate; Vision sufficient to view small details on a computer monitor.
• Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; ability to stoop, bend and lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• Regular business hours.  Some additional hours may be required.
• Travel requirements:  Approximately less than 10%
• Climate-controlled office environment during normal business hours.
• Regular attendance and punctuality required
• May be subject to  pre-employment criminal background check and/or drug screening as well as random drug screenings in accordance with company policy
