Job Description



Responsible for partnering with business stakeholders across the organization to provide research-based recommendations that supports strategic decision needs across the enterprise as well as overseeing the logical design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of advanced analytical solutions. This position will also be responsible for defining the vision and implementation plan for the suite of Data Science solutions necessary to support the multi-year business analytics strategy. Build and manage a team of Data Science experts and BI engineers to execute the analytics strategy for PODS. 



  • Work with all business areas and corporate functions to understand their most challenging business issues and design practical, yet impactful, data-driven solutions to help solve business challenges and drive business objectives for growth, cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Identify opportunities in the organization where analytics and data science will generate value(ROI)
  • Responsible for performing complex analyses, including optimization, text analytics, social-science modeling, statistical analysis, machine learning, parametric and non-parametric statistical models and techniques.
  • Develop advanced quantitative models/algorithms using a variety of programs/software to support predictive assessments.
  • Works with stakeholders to manage delivery and lead teams of data analytics resources in the design and delivery of analytical solutions. 
  • Provides leadership by building and management of data science and business intelligence resources and tools that provide business reporting and solution strategy for information delivery 
  • Drives the development, execution, monitoring and evaluation of the analytics strategy and delivery. 
  • Collaborates with peers to ensure understanding of current technology trends and implement new solutions. Direct analysis, development, implementation and support of data and analytics functions. 
  • Responsible for communicating analytics model behavior/results to business
  • Manage data science & business intelligence program plans, strategies, policies, and deliverables
  • Responsible for driving data quality throughout the organization
  • Apply strong understanding of data science techniques and libraries to business problems
  • Direct data science and BI engineers to deliver business project deliverables.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Information Systems or related quantitative field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years’ of data science, analytics, marketing, finance, computer science, or similar analytics field work-related experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing direct reports comprised of data science and BI teams
  • 5+ years’ experience writing SQL , R and Python or similar functionality within other development languages and statistical tools
  • 3+ years’ experience working with large data sets and distributed computing tools (Databricks, Spark , Map/Reduce, Hive etc.)
  • 3+years’ experience with business intelligence design, tools (like Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI etc) and reporting 
  • Expert knowledge of foundational statistics concepts: linear/ logistic regression, random forest, boosting, classification, clustering, GBM, NNs, etc and machine Learning 
  • Knowledge of NoSQL (unstructured) databases, data lakes and formats including text, image, sentiment, and audio/video
  • Expert knowledge of and working experience in cloud datawarehouse/ data lake platforms like snowflake, Azure, AWS 
  • Experience implementing data science & advanced analytical solutions
  • Knowledgeable in current technology and advanced analytics industry trends. 
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into easily understandable concepts. 
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work a variable work schedule as to meet program deadlines.
