Job Description


The Manager of Analytics – Demand and Funnel will lead and guide analytic roadmaps and activities related to demand planning and funnel conversion and continually partner with cross-functionally to drive and deliver integrated and metric-driven demand plans across varying levels and dimensions of the business. 

The teammate will also drive the development of a market-level demand planning roadmap which will be critical to the success of the long-term growth strategy for PODS. This role will lead and inform business reviews to ensure cross-functional alignment while ensuring the transparency of operational plans and key assumptions; pacing to plan, drivers of performance as well as inherent risk and opportunities.  

Additionally, the teammate will be responsible for analyzing plan performance and identifying drivers of acquisition and conversion and making suggestions to drive business performance and enhanced marketing ROI. Finally, the role will require continual collaboration with leadership as well as internal/external stakeholders to gain a mastery of the business; facilitate shared learning and ensure business implications of insights are understood and actioned.


  • Lead the development and review of annual and quarterly demand plans across all markets and channels through partnership with Marketing, Finance and Revenue Management to align on key assumptions and impact of comp and non-comp activities. 
  • Define and manage the analytical agenda in support of demand performance with a focus on the projection of trends; improvements in measurement; identification of key drivers across acquisition and conversion; and risk and opportunity assessment. 
  • Expand the PODS knowledge base around market-level insights and opportunities for growth.
  • Establish and lead weekly executive and cross-functional business reviews to ensure teams understand pacing to plan; drivers of plan variances and recommendations to mitigate risks or capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Develop an approach to project market-level performance and improve forecast accuracy and sensitivities to short-term trends. 
  • Support and inform operational reporting needs of cross-functional partners (both internal and external) and ensure teams are executing off the single source of truth.
  • Partner with revenue management, sales/service and finance to ensure alignment of plan risks/opportunities and associated staffing and capacity models. 
  • Actively participate in AOP strategy exercises to integrate internal and external trends and ensure underlying assumptions are accurate and inherent risks/opportunities are identified and elevated.
  • Develop and execute an analytic agenda to transition the organization toward a lead generation model and improve funnel conversion from visit to order.

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • BS degree in a quantitative discipline such as finance, quantitative marketing, statistics, operations research or mathematics, MBA is a plus
  • 6+ years of experience performing marketing or business analysis, including leading a demand, sales or revenue planning function, preferably in a lead generation or retail environment.
  • Demonstrated Experience working with large transactional databases in cloud or SQL environments using advanced SAS, SQL or R
  • Extensive knowledge of lead generation, marketing channels and funnel decomposition.
  • Understanding of forecasting and/or LP methodologies and practices.
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence reporting and development using tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Google Data Studio, etc.
  • A positive team player with the ability to communicate effectively, influence cross-functionally and develop solid working relationships across multiple levels and organizational boundaries is required
  • Experience leading and developing multilevel demand planning and performance reviews in a large, complex organization
  • Extensive data interpretation experience with the ability to communicate insights and findings to senior management and external partners in a clear, compelling way
  • Ability to see the big picture and “tell the story” behind the data to drive consensus and action
  • Understands the strategic levers of the business and how analytics is a catalyst for decision making
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and demonstrated ability to put structure around vague and unstructured requests/discussions
  • Can solve problems in complex situations using creative and conceptual reasoning
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to influence and expedite the decision-making process
