JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing the daily balance between revenue growth and margin expansion for all channels within the Commercial Business Unit. The role has significant influence over competitive pricing strategies and price positioning. Working directly with the Sales and operations to determine pricing.   Ensure execution to balance new business opportunities with maintaining revenue goals. Subject matter expert with respect to pricing execution and develops pricing strategy and tactics that fit within the Commercial business objectives. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and oversee all Business pricing related matters; Develop costing rules and the management of yield for new business accounts
  • Prepare analyses to determine pricing and financial summaries for new business opportunities, contract renewals and re-pricing requirements for current clients
  • Develop strategy and execution for Business pricing for the various hierarchy of business accounts
  • Analyze local performance, needs, risks and opportunities, and create strategies that substantiate planned revenue growth and address gaps in forecast
  • Apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve business problems, and quickly arrive at recommendations that drive corporate priorities
  • Provide guidance to the sales department on Costing, Pricing and Yield
  • Responsible for designing and implementing a pricing effectiveness review program to track and analyze the business impact of pricing moves
  • Identify risks and opportunities that the business may face in relations to industry performance 
  • Working with finance and operations to develop profitability by service scenario, verticals and/ or use cases
  • Contribute to process development for pricing, RFP responses, custom quotes, and contract management
  • Assist in developing requirements for new CPQ for Business Unit
  • Achieve specific economic performance objectives
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in finance, economics, statistics, operations research, supply chain management or industrial engineering
  • 5 – 8 years of experience in pricing/market analysis or equivalent experience 
  • 5 – 8 years of experience in the moving and storage industry or similar product
  • Knowledge of basic statistics, economics, marketing
  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt or Lean Certification a plus
  • Visual Basic, Access or other programming/reporting skills very desirable
  • Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
