JOB SUMMARY

The Instructional Designer will partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders to identify learning objectives and thereby architect, design, develop, and produce appropriate training curriculum, learning treatments and activities; while utilizing applicable learning modalities to achieve and measure multiple levels of skill and competencies. 

The Instructional Designer will create online learning modules, web-based training, instructor led training materials and guides, video, and all supporting content, utilizing a systematic instructional design process with an outcome-based methodology. This position will work closely with the LMS Administrator, to upload and manage courses within the learning management system platform, and brand and design standards for all content.

The Instructional Designer will use strong interpersonal, written and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video and audio to communicate and educate employees to perform job functions and remain in compliance with company and industry standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess, design and develop “learner-focused” instructional materials including online learning (Articulate Storyline and Camtasia), training modules, video, manuals, teaching aids, training activities, role play scenarios, facilitator guides, self-paced study and multimedia solutions for a blended learning environment.
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content.
  • Develop learning programs across a variety of mediums (print, self-study, and virtual environment), utilizing a proven / established instructional design methodology in an adult learning environment.
  • Ensure content/courses cater effectively to a wide variety of learners; modularize and update existing instructor-led and online content and curate the most relevant content to be included in the course.
  • Evaluate current offerings to ensure alignment to changes in our culture and learning journeys. Redesign/refresh our most priority programs as needed.
  • Continuously review all training programs to ensure they meet the business needs.  
  • Develop training measurement standards and ensure process consistency.
  • Ensure assessment requirements and standards for all training programs are met.
  • Assist Manager, Technology Training with tasks as required.

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate training & development environment and experience directly using the theories of adult learning and accelerated learning in a business environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in instructional design.
  • Experience working on functions with employee lifecycle management, to include onboarding, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence software in a learning environment preferred. 
  • Experience in developing storyboards and articulating the intended vision of the end-product.
  • Experience with video editing tools (Camtasia, Adobe Premier, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in designing, scripting or post-production video editing work preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and prioritizing day-to-day to meet deadlines.
