JOB SUMMARY

IT PMO Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for working with the Portfolio manager and assist in managing and monitoring the strategic planning, sequencing, and execution of a portfolio to align to organizational objectives and complying / utilizing IT PMO Project Office standards, processes, and tools.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage portfolio operating model and roles and responsibilities. 
  • Drive portfolio management best practices and standards that will improve productivity, investment decision making and realize targeted business outcomes. 
  • Collaborate with the business to deliver functional capabilities, enterprise level capabilities, and ensure they align to the projects supporting their portfolios. 
  • Collaborate with the IT PMO Project Office to ensure use of standard methodologies, processes, PPM tools and reporting metrics (KPIs) across the portfolio. 
  • Work with leadership to make sure that appropriate Program and Project Managers are allocated to portfolio projects and programs proactively.
  • Develop a set of executive and portfolio related dashboards to communicate up and down the organization the status of the program portfolio.
  • Manage the intake and demand management function and maintains the capital and expense budgets across the program portfolio.
  • Manage demand and resource capacity information that is critical for maintenance of the portfolios and work with Resource Managers to develop, refine, and maintain accurate workload allocations.
  • Responsible for the adoption of portfolio management methodology and provides suitable interpretation to all stakeholders within the organization.
  • Contributes to the development of overall Business and IT strategy as it relates to the project portfolio and performance of the portfolio.
  • Review, track and monitor the benefits realization plans within the portfolios.
  • Drive execution of the AOP planning process.
  • Manage monthly updating of project budgets and provide communications on portfolio budget performance and risks.
  • Creates and reports on benefits realization based on the justification in the business case for each project and/or program.
  • Contributes to training for portfolio management functions.
  • Contributes to the IT PMO roadmap and the enhancement of the portfolio management practice.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or related field 
  • PMP, PfMP, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Program, Project, and Portfolio management
  • 3+ years of experience with the functions within Program and Portfolio management
  • 3+ years with delivery methodologies and tools
  • Project, program, and portfolio leadership experience 
  • Strong financial acumen with experience of managing multimillion-dollar portfolios or programs.
  • Program Manager experience or People Manager experience
  • Portfolio, capacity, and financial management experience
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Experience driving change management initiatives across an organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in creating and delivering presentations to leadership
  • Excellent facilitation and issue resolution skills
