JOB SUMMARY

 

The Business Data Analyst applies analytical expertise and critical thinking to drive business performance by supporting the team via analysis, report generation and business insights. Information collected acts as a strategy companion in support of trends by marketing and sales channels, vertical segments and tracks performance against goals. The primary objective of this position is to grow revenue and profits in the specific products, channels and marketing mediums assigned through the use of data. The measure of success is consistent growth in both volume and gross profit margin of the entire Commercial segment. Essentially, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the analysis of business needs to identify business problems and propose appropriate software solutions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Utilizes Data Mining, Statistical Analysis and Media/Marketing systems in support of Senior Level Dashboard Development.
  • Responsible for gathering market intelligence from other departments and Customers interactions, as well as organizing and analyzing quoting and follow up systems to ascertain the best balance of volume and profits for the commercial business unit.
  • Pull data from a variety of sources, and turning into insights that the business can use to increase revenue, drive sales or decrease expenses.
  • Assist with revenue management audits to ensure compliance with all approved pricing rules.
  • Liaison between marketing and advertising agency to develop metrics and reporting for media effectiveness. Work with agency to develop attribution model for all marketing and media touchpoints.
  • Work with Salesforce.com reporting for analysis on opportunities and pipeline management.
  • Complete ad-hoc projects as requested by management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 0 – 2 years required of prior experience in the role of a business analyst or similar capacity (5+ preferred)
  • Ability to work with large data sets
  • Must excel at using EXCEL for reporting and chart development
  • Experience with Power BI and SQL expressions
  • Superior Analytical Skills; Attention to Detail
  • Project Management skills
